What an experience. Yesterday started off as most days do for me. I walked to work, and I was planning on going to the gym afterwards, and then going home eating and then sleeping. Oh, yeah, my life is that exciting! Well, at work, one of my buddies, Danielle knew about this secret Flogging Molly show being presented by Jack Daniels. She was going with her friends, and needed something to do between the concert and work because she really didn't want to go back over the bridge to Berkeley, and come back for the show. So, we headed toward my house. On the way her friend called. She was sick, she couldn't go, but she wanted Danielle to have the tickets. After the phone call, she asked me to go, I eagerly accepted, and thus was Flogging Molly.
So we got there, and well.... I'm not the biggest fan of Flogging Molly. Not in the sense that I don't like them, because I really do, but more in the sense that there are a lot of people out there whole like them a whole lot more then I do, and I realize this. I knew that they were awesome, and I've heard that they're amazing live, and it is true! They rocked! My ears are still ringing! There were less then 1,000 people there and it was sooooooooo much fun! But in addition to enjoying the fantastic music (I am now downloading their albums), and loving the jumping and banging around I did, it made me think about a lot of friends. At first I thought of my good friend Wolford, from Mesa, who loves Flogging Molly with a passion. Then I thought way back to high school (scarey!). I hadn't been to a mosh pit since then, and it reminded me of my good old concert buddies from back then! I couldn't stop thinking about Seth, and Thomas, who dragged me to show after show every other school night. It made me realize that I miss doing that. And that I'm not a prematurely old person....something that I've been afraid of.
