cross your fingers

Not many of you know this, but Alex and I are currently apartment hunting. We decided that six months in the Tenderloin is enough, and seeing how our lease runs up at the end of next month, we decided that to start looking now. We're moving in with our friend Destiny.

Oddly enough Destiny moved up here from SD about the same time Alex and I did. We used to work together in San Diego at the Mesa College Book Store, and continued random emails after we both quit. Anyway, this summer, one of those random emails unveiled the fact that I had a friend in the city! About time too, I was so lonesome for a friend I almost starting making brownies for the junkies outside.

Anyway, Desitny lives in Marin, which is right over the Golden Gate Bridge, and desperately wants to live on the other side of the bridge... and seeing how she didn't want to move in with someone that she didn't know, and seeing how we couldn't afford to move into a bigger, or better place, we decided to join forces.

This morning we went and looked at an amazing house that's held for poor people (like us) at an unheard-of-ly cheap rate. They need lots of info, your taxes and pay stubs (to prove you are poor enough to get the discount rate). Anyway, they show it to tuns of people, say we need everyone's info by this time, and then have a lottery for the apartment. The lottery is on Halloween.

As I said we saw the place this morning, and not only was it cheap, and exactly where we want to live, and awesome inside, it had all brand new appliances (stove, oven, fridge, DISHWASHER!), it was also incredibly CHEAP! We want it bad, real bad. So, we're going to get our info in, but we need all of you out there to send us good, lucky, positive, rent happy vibes, and of course, keep your fingers crossed!
