I made it to my interview, and back. Which, considering the area I went to, and the confusion on my bus, is nothing short of a small miracle. I had no IDEA where I was headed, and I didn't even know the type of company I was interviewing for, but I went. There's this wonderful site; www.511.org go there if you are EVER in San Francisco and you need to know how to get somewhere with public transit. It's amazing. You put in where your trip starts and where you're trying to get to, the time, how much you're willing to walk and boom. It spits out your itinerary. I love it. Without it, I most certainly wouldn't travel as much as I do.
Anyway, so I get there. It's basically an industrial zone. The company I interviewed with is a import business. I don't know if I did well or not, the interviewer was pretty brief and intense. I added an, "Oh yeah," or, "definitely," when it was appropriate, but not much else. At the end of it all he handed me his card, "Now, you call me at 5:30 tonight. We'll have gone through everyone by then and we'll tell you straight out. We're not going to string you along or anything, we'll be straight with you. Now, if we want you to come back, you'll come back and instead of a second interview we'll have you spend some time watching us work here. That's nice, huh? Hands on. That's what we're like here, hands on..." I'm amazed I remember that much. He spoke very fast, and although he was enthusiastic, his enthusiasm worked against him, becoming distracting and almost comical.
So, there you go, I won't know nothing until 5:30. I'm ok with not getting it, I'm not too jazzed about being a customer service aide for his import company. It's really not up my alley.
BUT, you know, well some of you will know, what is up my alley? Theater of course. And, once I got home, I received a call from City Box Office for an interview on Wednesday at 11:30. My suit is getting a work out this week! This is the job I'm really excited about. It's full time too. I need full time, Alex and I be poor.
Oh, cancel your fingers being crossed tomorrow, my interview was canceled, something came up. It's all good though. Because City Box Office is where it's at! I shouldn't get my hopes up too high, so no more talking about it.
Well, well, here we are at the end again, maybe I'll post after I call the import guy, maybe I won't. Time will only tell.....
