That's right, Sunset Bowl is closing the doors (
Union Trib Article). When I was in High School, I think I might have been there at least once a week! Midnight bowling was where it was at, and the drama geeks could not get enough of it. They would get soooooo sick of the twenty something of us barely scrapping enough money together enough to pay for our games. Someone was always getting their ball stuck on the lanes, we'd get in trouble for ringing our food down to the non-food area, and of course, since we were drama Nordic, we were loud, obnoxious, and sexually promiscuous. If you are my new In-Laws, this , of course, doesn't include me. I had some fun times at that bowling alley. My good old friend, Sarah Duquette and I used to bump and grind pretty seriously to "Boom Boom Boom, I want You in my Room" that funny old techno song, to distract the boys so we could win. Like I said, it was good times. I feel odd that at the ripe young age of 21, my childhood memories are already turning into condos. I thought that usually happened right before your 1st High School reunion. Well, goodbye Sunset Bowl, you gave me a lot I will never forget my fun times filled with funky disco and techno music, flashing bright lights and lots and lots of heavy balls! Goodbye, I hope the run was as fun for you, as it was for us!

Even though I didn't grow up in San Diego, I am still bummed about Sunset Bowling closing. We went there once sophmore year for a Girls Night Out and had a blast at midnight bowling. Andy said that his dad is good friends with the guy who owns the place, and he used to go hang out there when he was in high school too. It's too bad we didn't really have a cool place like that back in Bowie, so I guess the only equivilent for us would have been the Denny's hahaha. If that happened, many a scene kid would be devastated ;)
