Audrey got the coolest present the other day. They're these blocks from HABA. They're called Fantasy Blocks. If you need to buy a baby a fun toy, I highly recommend them! You can find them here. Some of the blocks have bells in them, some have bumping sides for teething, and they are all in different bright colors with neat designs on them.
More then anything though, I think I just love the idea of simple blocks. They're made out of wood, so they'll last forever... you don't have to plug them in, or buy batteries for them. And, research shows that kids Audrey's age still learn more from blocks then any other type of toy ( including all those fancy electronic toys that are out there). So, next time you need to buy a small person a gift, skip the toys with all the bells and whistles, and good for the classics!
