So yesterday we found, TWO apartments that we could have on the spot. After weeks of wanting, and agonizing over moving and finding a place in this city, TWO fall from the sky within the same day. Sigh.
There is a big difference in the places. The first place is in the avenues, and for all of you that aren't from SF, that's a MUCH more residential area then we're in now. It was really large, big windows and a great view. Another plus was that it was that it had newer stuff. A claw foot tub is fun a t first, until you realize that if you're at all larger then I am it's impossible to shower in them.... and as many of you know Alex is almost exactly twice my size.
The second one is in a much more hip part of town. It's on Clayton right on the panhandle, and only a block or two away from Haight. Very fun part of town. It's cooler, in a Victorian building with style and charm, while the other is in a regular apartment building. This one has hard wood floors, which we love, and the other one has carpet, but unfortunately this one has a blasted claw foot tub.
Or soon to be room mate really likes the slightly smaller, one in the fun area, so we've basically ruled the one in the avenues out now.... but I'm still having trouble. Should we grab this one even though it's not exactly what we want? Or do we wait for what we want and risk never finding an apartment? I guess I'll have all that answered tonight. I hope so at least.
