It's Sunday... the only day in the week when Alex and I have a morning together. We usually try to find that amazing little breakfast cafe, that has potential to blow our minds, and dazzle our taste buds. Unfortunately, we're usually disappointed, and left with bad eggs, or over cooked meat. Today, however was different.
We went to a little spot called, Dottie's True Blue Cafe on Jones and O' Farrell. It was amazing. We had to wait in line for almost an our, to get in, but let me tell you it was worth the wait, as well as the constant searching! We sat at the counter, next to a regular. A very outgoing woman, I must say...
"I come here every Saturday," She leaned over and informed me as soon as Alex and I sat down. "I came again today because I can't get enough of this place. He," She motioned to the cook/owner (seen in picture above), "goes to the farmers market every morning for fresh ingredients. Don't order off the menu, order off the specials board, over there."
And fresh it was. I had a scramble, with cheese, cilantro, and onions, with the best salsa I've had this far north, and some fried potatoes and flour tortillas. It was awesome. I don't know what Alex had, it was gone too quickly for me to notice!
The best part was, that once my chatty neighbor was finished with her breakfast, she grabbed an apron and got me some water! "I didn't know that you worked here!" I said to her after she asked if I was done with my plate.
"I didn't know either! They needed some help, so I'm working off my breakfast!"
Alex and I left thinking the same thing, this is our kind of place.
Highly recommended place, if you're looking for a good breakfast, check it out! Get there early though, there's a long line!
