where is the magic?

Where is the magic in Tim Burton's new claymation feature, "The Corpse Bride?" Because that is the missing element. Magic. It's a beautiful movie, a mostly funny script, and highly original, however there is also definitely something missing too. Maybe it's the fact the unlike, "Nightmare Before Christmas," they never leave the drab grays and blacks for bright and colorful Christmas town, so you're in dark gothic, German, overload. Maybe it's because unlike all other music by Danny Elfman, this turned out just ok. And maybe, just maybe, it's missing the wonder and passion often felt through Tim Burton's films; like, Nightmare, Big Fish, etc. I think the missing ingredient was magic, is you ask me, though. Go see it though, it is beautiful, an clever, just don't expect the moon.

Hiya rachet, I am just spending a couple of hours browsing and found your site. I spotted your post called where is the magic? although it was artificial christmas trees I was looking for. I found it an interesting and informative read and I just though I'd say so. Got to go looking for artificial christmas trees now so I'll check your site again soon. Good site by the way.
